I understand your Great Great Grand mother is Mary Ellen Sturgill Louderback. My great Great Grandmother is Sarah Jane Louderback Holmes Sturgill, Elihu Sturgill's second wife. Her son Albert s. Holmes, whose father was Andrew V. Holmes, is my great grandfather, but that is another story.
Mary Ellen married Anderson Perry Louderback Sept. 28, 1871 in Lawrence County, Ohio. Elihu Sturgill Married Sarah Nov. 10, 1871. Their marriage license both contain the signature of W. K. Sturgill, could he be William King Sturgill, Elihu's uncle?
Mary Ellen died in Crooksville, Ohio on April 30, 1916, Anderson died in Barberton, Ohio on Jan. 30, 1917, while living with his son warren. Both are buried in Crooksville.
Anderson Louderback and Sarah Jane Louderback were brother and sister. Anderson's death certificate signed by his son Warren lists Anderson's father as Lewis Louderback of Pa. his mother as Rachel Turvey of W. Va. Incidently Lewis and Rachel were married in Lawrence County, Ohio on March 31, 1835.
These Court records in Lawrence County are on microfilm in the Briggs Library in Ironton, Ohio.
One odd thing about tracing the Louderback line is sometimes they spell their name with an"A" other times with an"O". In later years they went with the "A", although Lewis and Rachel on their marriage license spelled it with an "O".Mary Ellen and Anderson's headstone is spelled with an "A" though Mary's death certifacte is filled out using the "O".
