Thank you for your response to my message. Your information is promising. Newton is certainly in the same neighborhood as Lower Makefield.
I will pursue the George Zuber connection to Abner Suber. Perhaps Abner is a grandson of Jacob, John, Peter, Michael, or Daniel. I am looking for a convincing connection. Perhaps that will take a visit to Doylestown. It is a shame that I did not know about my Bucks Co. connection when I lived near there in central New Jersey.
I have learned that having the same last name does not mean that two people are related. To confuse matters more, I am aware that Germans of this era were usually called by their middle name.
I have done LDS, Ancestry.com, and other Web searches. None of them have given me anything to establish a connection between Abner and others in Bucks Co. I am not even sure about Abner’s full name.
Family legend says that there were originally two brothers that came to America from Germany. One went south and one went north. There is no hint as to how many generations back this occurred.
