I am so excited to hear from you! I cannot make a firm connection at this time, but do know that the Summerskill surname was spelled various ways, and that there probably is a connection somewhere as there weren't that many of the name. We are having a difficult time finding out where our James Summerskill was from--we do know that there were none of the surname in Manchester in 1800.

We suspect that our James possibly had a brother named Charles, who had a son, Charles Summerskill, Jr. who was born in 1828, and md. 14 Aug 1848 (in Manchester), to an Ellen Cronshaw. We also suspect that they may have had a brother named, Thomas.
