Pam
I have a Henry Summerscales who was the brother of my ancestor John Summerscales.
On the 1881 Census Henry was listed as a coal miner aged 34 Birthplace Dewsbury, York. He was living at 26 Double Row, Brancepeth, Durham, England with his wife Ann aged 26 and 2 daughters Mary E aged 6 and Sarah aged 4 and his father-in-law Robert Pierce Widower aged 61.
It might help.
Elizabeth
