I actually scanned the census pages, one-by-one looking at first names and if I saw a Jane or Sarah, I compared the rest of the names to what was on the 1860 Tippah census. I just don't know where they could be. John and other family members may have died during the civil war. I was really keying in on the name Tippah, how often have you seen that name? I'm not giving up, but it sure is frustrating trying to find them. Let me know if you have any luck. Oh, by the way, I have ordered the death certificate for Winnie. It should be here in a week or two. I am very interested what it says under her mother's maiden name. I have the certificates of two of Jane (Surratt?) Lard's daughters. My greatgrandmother's says mother; Jane Lard, the other says; don't know. I hope Winnie's has some good info on it. I will let you know. Thanks, David
