I am researching JOHN ANDERSON SERATT and his wife SARAH out of Wayne & Lawrence
Counties of TN. I have done some research on them and would like to see if
anyone has anything to add. I have their children. I am mostly interested
in the SARAH that married JOHN.

Per an old Journal I have SARAH was a half sister to JOHN RILEY FRAZIER
born March 07, 1845 in Wayne County, TN.

I know the marriage records say Sarah Stower married John A. Serrat. I know
she is buried at RoEllen Cemetery in Dyer Co, TN. Per the records:
Seratt Sarah 1845 1923 s/s as John A. & George A. Seratt.

I have made 3 trips to the Library in Memphis, TN to view the 1923 death
index for the state of TN. I cannot find Sarah Seratt (all spellings
including Durret, Jarrett, Harris, Frazier, Stow, Stower, and many more).
So I decided to get her daughters record.
The first born child of John & Sarah Seratt was Frances Belle Seratt.

TN Death Cert No:22656
Mrs. F. B. DUNCAN of Dist:4 of Dyer Co, TN
Female, White, Widow
Died: 16-Oct-1937 12:30AM
Born: 03-Feb-1866 TN
Father: John SERRATT, born TN
Mother: Miss FRAZIER, born TN
Informant: Mr. H. L. DUNCAN of Dyersburg, TN Rt.#2
Burial: Roellen on 16-Oct-1937
Undertaker: J.W. Curry & Sons of Dyersburg, TN

I also searched for JOHN ANDERSON SERATT and his war records. Hoping to find a Soldiers
Pension Application. And maybe a Widow Application. I was told that John Seratt served
in 1861 as a Private in Co.A Welcker's Cav C.S.A.

I found WELCKER's TN Cavalry Battalion. It was organized August 7, 1863 at Kingston,
Roane County, TN. for service in Tennessee. The term of enlistment was for only 6 months.
It was mustered out of service January 1864.
No record of John or any Seratt serving with that company.

My records show:
SARAH FRAZIER was born Feb 1842 in TN, and died Jan 23, 1923
[no record found of death in archives of TN] in Dyer Co, TN.
She married JOHN ANDERSON SERATT Jan 13, 1865 in Wayne Co, TN,
son of JOHN SERATT. He was born Mar 09, 1845 in Lawrence Co, TN,
and died May 1912 in Dyer Co, TN.
Both buried at RoEllen Cemetery in Dyer Co, TN.

Census: 1870 Wayne Co, TN Dist:6 PG:467B
Census: 1880 Henderson Co, TN Dist:12 ED:62 PG:16 FN:141
Census: 1900 Dyer Co, TN Dist:7 ED:22 SHT:13B FN:236
Census: 1920 Dyer Co, TN Dist:5 ED:23 PG:2A FN:20

Child of SARAH FRAZIER and JOHN SERATT are: (they had many)
FRANCES BELLE SERATT, b. Feb 04, 1866, Wayne Co, TN; d. Oct 16, 1937, Dyer Co, TN.
She married JAMES DUNCAN 1882 in TN. He was born May 1855 in TN and died before 1937.
Listed on census of 1900, Dyer Co, TN ED:153 FN:238

Does anyone have a documented source of John Seratt serving in the Confederate Army?
Does anyone have any other death records for the other children of John and Sarah?

I appreciate any information on this family.
