Hi! I know this is a little late, but I am a direct descendant of Obediah Washington Surrett Sr. as well.
This is how my descendency goes:
Obediah W. Surrett Sr.
Obed. W. Surrett Jr. married Julia Jones (had)
Riley Jackson Surrett ( sometimes mis-named James instead of Jackson)married Estella Bryant (had)
Florence Pearl Surrett Married Hyman Turner (had)
Eugene Turner married Nelbia Massey (had)
Darlene Turner Maxwell

So, we are related, and I would love to have all the info you have, and pictures!!!!, as I have none of any of my ancestors.
