Hi, Charles.

I was just scanning old messages on the website and saw that no one responded to your 2001 message. How rude! (smile)

I've just subscribed again to the site after several years away.

My maiden name is Siratt, changed from Surratt about three generations back. My great-grandfather was James Monroe Surratt, grandfather Jacob Finley Sirratt, and father Jacob Finley Siratt Jr. I had a brother, Jacob Finley Siratt III, but he died in Vietnam in 1968. So, we aren't carrying the name forward any longer, as there were only girls in our family until Jakie.

My ancestors were in South Carolina, then Tennessee. Jacob Sr. left TN in 1850 and went to Arkansas. Then, in 1932, my father and mother (Lois Ellen Grisham) moved to California where all of their children were born.

Have you found anything you were looking for? Who are your immediate ancestors?

Beverly Siratt Scofield
