Josh, As far as I can find all the Sursa's are related. The name was changed from Searcy when 2 brothers James and John left Tn and moved to Jefferson Co., Il.
I have your ancestors as:
Christopher, son of Hobert ("Tink") and Betty Clark
Hobert was son of Marvin and Susie
(Marvin was the brother of Ada Sursa, my husband's mother)
Marvin was the son of John Wesley and Electra Cowger Sursa
John Wesley the son of James P. and Charlotte Temple Owen
James P. was the son of John and Mary (unknown surname)
John was one of the brothers from Tn who changed name.
Their parents were Richard Searcy and wife Elizabeth Carlisle Searcy.
Four more Searcy back from there, this is getting too much. I do have documentation on the name change, etc.

It was John Wesley and Electra who came to Texas from Il. They had 7 children: Effie, Edgar, Ada, Flora, Marvin, Iva, Eula. Be happy to answer any questions. Joy
