I am an 19 year old student at the University of Kentucky. But enough of that, After my father's death in 1994 I learned some things about his past which neither my brothers, mother or myself were aware of. When My father and his brother when away from hom at a young age they changed the spelling of their last name to the present day Suthers. It turns out the origional spelling was SUTHARD.. We traced that name and found a family cemetary in Tennessee near the WV border. My brothers and I are now wondering just how extensive our family tree really is. My father's name was Oscar Suthers, he was in the Navy during WWII and was at the bombing of Pearl Harbor. His brothers and cousins all have the last name Suthers, but the name starts with that generation. His father, uncles, aunts, etc. Are all SUTHARD.. Any information would be highly appreciated and welcomed. Please email me at
