Karen, I believe that we may be in the same family. We now believe that William Swain, father of Julia Ann, Mary C, Mary J, Elizabeth, Uriah, Mathew Elder, and possibly John and Sarah E Swain was the brother of Jacob E Swain. In message #1115, another researcher believes that Jacob E, William, and George Ambrose are the sons of Benjamin and Christina Stauffer Swain/Schwein of Greenburg, Weatmoreland Co. PA. Rick Swain, who has also posted on this site, is descended from Mathew Elder and I am descended from Jacob E through his first son, George Lewis.
