Nancy...the only thing I know is that my Swains (in Ireland, Queens Co (no Co Laois) since mid 1700's) were originally English...since the 1600s anyway and there do seem to be alot of Swains of English heritage. Haven't heard the Danish, Dutch or German theory with my Swains at all.
