Caroline, I'm not sure if this cleared up anything for the other people, but every bit of information helps me. I think that we finally have found out where the mistaken information about a possible Mary Emerick being married to Jacob E Swain came from. In an obituary for Henry Swain, a son of Jacob, the name Mary Emerick appeared as the mother of Henry. His descendent, Ted Acker, believes this was a mistake on the part of the person writing the obit - perhaps his mother or his aunt. Henry's mother was really Julia Ann Lybarger as you said and as we earlier believed, and Julia Ann's parents were Emericks. Where Mary fits in is questionable. A cousin of mine just received a lot of information from the Ashland (I believe - or Wayne) Co. Library about the Emerick family. You probably have it all, but I would be glad to share if anyone else needs to know more. Eleanor
