Eliakim's Swain's children-Tyrrell Co.

I hoping someone can help me. I am looking for info on Eliakim Swain's children. On the 1850 Tyrrell Co. census it has Thomas and Mary. Does anyone know who Mary married? Thomas in 1850 it shows him as a sup. court clerk age 21 living with his parents. There is a Thomas on the 1860 census a farmer age 32 married to Mary age 22, son Thomas age 9 & son Charles age 1. In 1870 Thomas age 41, wife Mary 28, son Thomas 6, son Franklin 5, dau. Martha 3 & son Edward 1. Can anyone tell me if this is Elialim's Thomas. His wife Mary and their son Thomas's ages are off a bit. From 1860 to 1870 Mary ages only 6 years and Thomas gets younger by three years. Are these the same family, I'm confused. In 1880 Mary is gone and Thomas is 16. To top this off I can't find a marriage anywhere for Thomas and Mary. Please Help! Pam
