I hope this information will help you. Samuels mother was called Emma

Father- Samuel Swain of Mottram, had 2 (half) brothers surnamed Pinder.
Mother - Hannah Bray of Hollingworth. (it appears she was married at least twice - Swain & Pinder)

(Sam was supposed to be the bastard son of an anonymous Mottram Gentleman who got his mother, a peasant type girl, into trouble. She was probably a maid at this man's home. Sam went to Mottram Grammar School, which he could not have done on his mother's income.)

Eventually lived on Lord Street (No.58?). Children -
Isaac
Alice
Samuel married and lived in Garden St. Audenshaw. Had ginger hair, worked at Denton Hat factory.
Florence born at Pot Hill, Mottram Old Rd. married James Green, daughter Marion Green.
Jessie
James
Tom Thomas. married Jane, ? and lived at 58 Lower Lord Street. Jane was a school teacher.
I remember Tom as a little man with a red face and a high squeaky voice.

Please let me know if there is a link
