Bonny (or other Swain researchers)

I am beginning to suspect something is questionable about our documentation of the Swain line that seemed for years to originate with Isaac. Everyone seems to indicate that Isaac Swain m. Dorothy and had Jacob, Dorothy, Orphelia, Heber (Eber), Isaac, Cynthia, Susanna, and Andrew M. Many show varied dates of birth etc.

Andrew M. in the 1850 Bradford PA Census, records his family as:

A.M. 42 PA Farmer
A. 17
R. 15
L. 12
M. 8
Joseph 4
Isaac 78 Conn Farmer
D. (Dorothy?) 70 Conn

I am wondering now, based on Isaac's age, that his birth year has been incorrectly assumed. It would seem he would be more like Jacob's brother than his father, and these "siblings" may be nieces/nephews depending on actual birth years.

Interestingly, researching the Connecticut Swains, you can find a Henry Swain m. Susan Casper who had many children (one named Heber). Henry also had an Elijah (my Jacob named one of his sons Elisha - my GGGG Grandfather). There was also a son of Henry's named Andrew.

It would seem, based on the above Census, that our Bradford PA Swains connect to Connecticut in some fashion.
