I think you must not have gotten a notification because the message I replied to on the message boards was Michele's reply to your message, so the notification must have gone out to Michele. I should have thought of that and sent two replies!
How exciting to meet you both. I can send you several obituaries. I have David M. Swain's (the steamboat builder) and Lott Swain's transcribed and can send them by e-mail. I also will scan them so that I can send images of the originals once I find the time (soon)!
I didn't know how Lott was related but since I had his obituary, I figured he might be a brother of David's. Thanks for letting me know. Which brother are you related through? I am a descendant of William A. Swain, brother of David M. Swain.
I'd rather not post my e-mail address to the board (trying to reduce spam) but Michele has my address. E-mail her to get it and then e-mail me. I will send you back the obituaries. They are both fairly long. I would love to share family history information.
