My sources are Savage, Torrey and Pope, and "Ancestrial Heads". William Swaine came over on the Elizabeth & Ann from London in 1635, age 50. Appointed with other commissioners to rule new Connecticut colony. Wife unknown. He lived in Watertown 1635, Wetherfield by 1639 and Branford by 1644. Died 1664 prob. in Branford. Children (1)Samuel b 1622, d 1682+ in Newark, m Johanna @ 1648. (2) Daniel m Dorcas Rose, dau. of Robert Rose; married in Branford 7-26-1653. (3) Mary, (4) Elizabeth. I descend from Samuel.
