I am looking for information on a Miss Swain - no first name has been found yet - she married my husband's ggggrand-father - a James Espy - he was a sea captain and was lost at sea in about 1860. The only other information we have on Miss Swain is that her father was said to have been a Methodist Minister. James Espy was born in 1790 in Philadelphia, PA - no birthdate for Miss Swain - they are said to have been married in 1811 - they had two children -
Samuel C. Espy born in 1810 in Germantown, PA and Margaret Espy born about 1818 Philadelphia. Margaret married into the Freas family.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
