I'm researching my mother's side of the family.
My grandmother was Madeline Swain (born 29 Jul 1878 Aston, Birmingham, England - died 2 Feb 1961.) She married Charles William Kelly (born 11 Nov 1878 London - died 25 May 1960 Birmingham) on 30 Mar 1912. They had Gwendolen & Madeline (my Mum).
My great grandparents were Joseph Swain (born 5 Jul 1844 Birmingham, England - died 21 Nov 1931 Acocks Green, Birmingham) & Margaret Lambert (bet 1846-47 Dublin, Ireland - died 10 Jan 1935, Acocks Green, Birmingham, England). They also had Constance Swain Lambert (born 9 Apr 1873), Joseph Clarence Lambert (born 1 Mar 1875), & Ernest Arthur Swain (born bet Jul - Sep 1879).
I'm not sure whether Joseph & Margaret Lambert actually married, but the children seem to have both Swain & Lambert surnames, which change on different census's!
I think he might have married Betsey Addison Weatherilt on 14 Aug 1865, and they had a daughter Margaret Louisa Swain on 14 Oct 1868, but I'm trying to find out more about whether this is the right Joseph.
My great great grandparents were Joseph Swain (born bet 1812 - 13 Birmingham) & Susannah Ball (born bet 1820-21 London). They also had Thomas (born bet 1839 - 40) Susan Jane (born bet 1842 - 43) George (born bet 1846 - 47) & Charles (born 1850), all in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.
Anyone out there researching the same family? I do hope so.
