Albuquerque Journal - May 11, 2003 Ronald Dean Swain, 69, of Albuquerque, NM., passed away May 6, 2003 after suffering a stroke on Friday, May 2, 2003. Born 28 July, 1933 in Milan, MI., to Floyd and Mabel Swain, he was one of five children. Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Kenneth and Ralph. Survivors include his former wife Arlene Henson of Tecumseh, MI.; his daughter Evette Strain of Woodbridge, VA.; his son Jody Swain and family of Albuquerque, NM; his sister Betty McNeese of Tavares, FL. and his sister, Erma Snead of Onsted, MI. Mr. Swain enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in March 1952 and served in the Korean War from November 1953 to February 1954 and honorably discharged on 8 February 1955. After a number of years in Santa Cruz, CA., with his family, he returned to Clinton, MI and was employed by Peerless Gear. Upon his retirement, he relocated to Albuquerque, NM and then returned to Clinton, MI. Mr. Swain continued to reside in Clinton, then spent a number of years with his daughter in Woodbridge, VA and returned once again to Albuquerque, NM. Cremation has taken place and military services will be held at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico on Monday, May 12, 2003 at 12pm.
