What do you know about your James Swain? My ancestor James was originally from Prince Georges County Md. His parents names were John and Mary. He lived & died in Prince William County Virginia, although I've been unable to locate the cemetery. He served with the 8th Virginia Infantry as did two of his brothers, but different companies. I was in contact with a gentleman years back in regards to the swains. He spoke of a Swain mountain. Jame's daughter Fannie, married my great grandfather.
