More research! Capt. Samual Swain(e) had two daughters, Elizabeth and Christianna. Elizabeth (1) married Josiah Ward and (2) married David Ogden. My relationship to Thomas A. Edison is from this second marrage.

Christianna Swain(e) born Apr 25 1659, Branford, Ct. married Nathaniel Ward. They had a son, Nathaniel Ward born Apr 1691.

My mother, Mae Ward Sharp descended from Christianna Swain(e), and my father Preston Sharp decended from Elizabeth Swain(e).

Sources are the genealogy of Donald E. Poste, a cousin, and "The Ogden Family , Elizabethtown Branch" by William Ogden Wheeler, F.H.L. Film# 1033759.
