Samuel Swain b.1809 Northwood, N.H.. Settled in Livingston Co., NY in 1818. His 1st wife was Cynthia Jeffries b.1810 Cayuga Co.,NY. They were married in 1834 and she died in 1859. His 2nd wife was Clara J. Jeffries b.1822. They were married in 1854. Five Children:
1.Samuel J. Swain Jr.
2.Charles J. Swain
3.Julius C. Swain
4.Emma Swain
5.Katie Swain
