I seem to have something of a mess trying to figure out these two families. One line is tied to my maternal side, and the other to my paternal side. Does anybody know if they are related?

NOTE: This first family has ties to the Thornton family on my maternal side. Edwin and Cora are buried in Spencer, Iowa, but most of this family is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola, Iowa.

NOTE: This second family has ties to the Fletcher family on my paternal side. Darwin died in Andersonville Prison during the Civil War, and is buried in the National Cemetery in Andersonville, Georgia. John and Josephine are buried in Austin Cemetery in Sherman County, Nebraska. The name John Farrar seems to be rather repetitious and a bit confusing in the Swain families.
