Looking for descendants of Josiah Swain b. VA 1805 who married Mary James in Mercer County Ky before 1840. They were in Logan county, Ky in 1850 and in Franklin County TN in 60, 70, and 80 census. Josiah and Mary had nine children, all girls. They are Louisa (Cook) b. Ky 1837, Jennie (Fitzgerald) b. Ky 1840, Mollie (Mary) (Williams) b. KY, Sara, 1842, Martha b. Ky 1845, Amanda (Nannie) Johnson b.Ky 1848, Sidney (Johnson)b. TN 1850, Alice,(Swain) b.1854 TN, and Idella b. 1857 TN.
I would love to find out more about these girls and share information on this remarkable pioneer family. My grandmother was Jennie. I have found Nannie in Tracy City, TN, Alice, who married a cousin, William F. Swain, in Dallas, Texas, and Sidney in Colorado.
