Looking for information on Joseph Swain, he married Lydia Roberts, daughter of either Robert and Alicia Roberts or Thomas and Elizabeth Roberts, on May 25th 1788 in Burton Bradstock, Dorset, England. They had three known children, John born November 9th 1790, Richard born 1795, and Mary Lydia born 1799. He died in September Quarter of 1840 in Bridport, Dorset, England.
His son John married Jane Hooke on December 15th 1817, daughter of William and Mary (Swain) Hooke. They had ten children:
