My father, Timothy Whitzel Swain, is the son of Theodore Paul Swain, whose father was Sylvannus Whitzel Swain. He goes back to Cornelius Swain, who in turn goes back to Richard Swain of Nantucket Island (thanks to Robert H. Swain's fine book, The Swains of Nantucket).
