surnames" FORTNER and MEADOWS.
Hardee?Hardy F. Fortner was said to be her
son. His birth certificate reads mother
Sarah "Sallie" MEADOWS father unknown.
He was not listed as living with her as
a Fortner in earlier census. She was born
around 1800 and he was born around 1830.
Was he born a MEADOWS and later changed his
name? He is said to be half brother to one
of her known sons, Mitchell Griffin FORTNER
