Perhaps I can add a little. Balthasar, who spelled his name Balthasar Schwenk (or Schwenck), was apparently a German immigrant who settled in Berks Co., PA, in the mid-18th century. He died about November 1763 in Maxatawny Township, Berks Co., leaving a widow and 8 minor children. John (Johann Schwenk) was the eldest, and was therefore probably born around 1748 -- whether in Germany or Pennsylvania is unclear. He married Rosannah Summit (at that time known as Rosina Sammet) in Berks Co. on November 28, 1769. I knew her father's name was Jacob, but was unaware of her mother's name. Can you tell me where you located that information?

My own Swank connection is through David Swank, John's third son, born in Kentucky on April 1, 1780, and married in 1800 to Elizabeth Westfall.
