Private Jacob Schwenck fo the Hesse-Kassel Regt.v. Buenau born 1737/38 in Allendorf but was still on the muster roll of his regimenrt in 1783. I am researching Jacob Swank of August County, Virginia who married Mary(Polly)Showalter and had 12 children. Word of mouth has it that he was a Hessian soldier abandoned in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia by the British at the end of the war. Word also has it that his name was originally Schwenk. I'll take any help I can get!
Thanks !
