Denise, Thanks for the information. I've been trying to find a link between my gr-gr-grandfather's brother (George McCown) and F. B. Swank. In George's Civil War Pension papers is a letter by Mr. Swank trying to get a raise for George. He refers to him as "uncle". I wanted to know if there was a tie or that was just a term he used because George was an old man. From what I can find, George McCown lived in Garvin and Grady counties. His wife's maiden name was Nancy Grace. He was born in 1840 and died in 1929. Do you by any chance have a McCown connection? Cindy
