Hi Betsy,
May ancestor is Lemuel Swank b. Feb 1804 at sea off the coast of Maryland probably. His parents died shortly after they arrived. I think he had at least one sibling...maybe Joseph. They came west with a Hurdle family and settled in Coshocton, Ohio. abt 1810???
I have this tree on down....As I have researched Swanks for a few years I became familiar with many other Swank families. The family of Johannes Georg Swank b. 1765 ,,I have quite a bit on it.That family went from Penn. to Virginia..and from there to muskingum County, ohio//
Then, there is a branch that went to Kentucky from Virginia and moved west to Missouri and Iowa and Illinois. I don't have a subscription....I did, but let it go...as I didnt find anything of use on it......Regards, Marj
