Today I just feel like pulling out my hair.
My great grandfather's name was John Delbert (J.D) Swank. He was born to John Winchester Swank and an Unknown Osage woman on March 13, 1901 in Bartlesville, Washington County, OK. I have been seeking his mother's name for many years. I don't want it engraved in gold and delivered to me. I just want to know who she was so I can give her a name. She may have died about 1907 (They said she died when J.D. was 6), They may have lived in Pawhuska, Osage County, OK. On the 1900 census exactly 9 months prior to his birth his father's lists his marital status as either single or divorced. The letter S and D appear in the box written over each other and I do not know which came first. No matted who she turns out to be, she deserves a name and the credit for the son she bore.
I can do almost all his aunts and uncle's lines, but why not mine?
John W. Swank did not get married in Chautauqua County, KS or Bartlesville, Washington County, OK. I don't know about surrounding areas like Pawhuska and such.
