My father's brother was named Walter Swatts. My father's family lived in South Georgia.

The earliest Swatts I could find in a census record was in Pennsylvania in 1790. There was also a Swatts on the 1790 census in Newberry, South Carolina.

I have read that there were many German emigrants landing in Philadelphia and then moving on to South Carolina.

I think our family came from Bavaria, the section of Germany of which Munich is the largest city.

I wonder whether we could possibly have any connection. There are so few Swatts!
