We have several SWAYNE family members living with various of our ROGERS in the 1850 Carroll Co. TN Census. It might be that the parents had died and the children then lived with our ROGERS as they were Judges and involved in the Court system in that region at that time. However, none of our Rogers seem to have records of why the SWAYNES are living with our ROGERS and I cannot find many records on the SWAYNE name in Carroll Co. TN. Does anyone have further information on Swaynes that may have moved down from Kentucky into Tennessee in that 1830-1850 era ?

"Carroll Co. TN Court Minutes July Term 1850" :
"This day came Nancy Rogers into Court and therupon the Court proceeded to bind out Newton Swayne to the said Nancy Rogers until he shall arrive as the age of twenty-one years. Whereupon the said Nancy Rogers entered into indentures with the Chairman of this Court as the law requires & c. ( Newton Swayne ) "
