Searching for any information of Matthias and Mary "Polly" (Hawley) Sawyze family. Matthias born about 1864 in Sussex, Sussex Co., New Jersery; died about 1800 in Harve de Grace, Harford Co., Maryland. He married about 1760 in Ontario Co., New York to Mary "Polly" Hawley (she was born in Delaware).
Their children were:
1) Mary Polly Swayze, b. 1790 in NY; marr. Ammon Dunn abt. 1812.
2) Edith Swayze, b. 1794 in NY; marr. Orrin Stone 30 June 1816 Victor, Ontario Co., NY.
3) Margaret Swayze, b. 7 Jan 1795; died 26 Feb 1880; marr. John Fletcher Loughborough abt 1814 in Bloomfield, Ontario Co., NY.
4) Alice Mariah Swayze, b. 6 Nov 1800 in Maryland; died 9 Mar 1880 in Kingman, Kingman Co., KS; marr. Anson Fairchild Doud in 1821 in NY.
5) Betsy Swayze, b. 20 Aug. 1801 in Victor, Ontario Co/. NY.
This family is my "trip up"! This is all I know after 40 years of research.
