Thanks Michelle, I believe that Benjamin is the one. A Benjamin appears in the Pelham-Gainsborough area as born in NJ in 1780-81. In the County Marriage Records Vol. 19 ,1858-1869 and Benjamin and Phebe are listed as parents of James Swayze of Gainsbourgh. Benjamin has been reported to have been married to a Phebe Righenbargh, but I have no documentation of that.I believe they came to the Niagara area around 1805,after he death of Benjamin Sr.
Issac Swayze had a son Benjamin who was granted land in 1805,but I do not think it was him.Another Benjamin , in the same time period moved on to Kintore and he is not the one mentioned above.
I have no record of the death of Benjamin, he was last recored in the 1861 Census as living with the above James
Swayze at age 80, but does not appear in the 1871 census.I am currently searching through the lands records to find any clue relating to him. Any suggestions?
