Thank you for your reply. I have not traced the Sweatt
family back to England. The only information I have on
Edward Carroll Sweatt and his ancestry is what I have found
on the internet.

I am going to Salt Lake City in April on my annual genealogy
trek. I am going to work some on the Sweatt family. I am
also going to work on other families. I would like to keep
in touch with you through the Sweatt message board.

I descend from Edward Carroll Sweatt and Sarah Ann Tuggle
through their daughter Nancy Jane Sweatt, who married William Russell Shannon. Where do you fit into the Sweatt
family tree?

I think I can say for sure that I descend from Edward
Carroll Sweatt because a brother of my maternal grand-
mother had the middle name of Carroll. Going back to
William Clinton Sweatt, in the 1850 Federal Census his
wife's name was Mary.

I have a copy of guardianship records from Ellis County,
Texas, for Edward Carrol Sweatt that I got off the
internet. The record shows all the siblings of my Nancy
Jame Sweatt, but not Nancy Jane, because Nancy Jane was
married in January 1854 and the guardianship paperwork
was recorded in Texas after Nancy Jane Sweatt and William
Russell Shannon were married.

I will get back to you. I would like to try and get the
Sweatt family information in some kind of order.
