Yes, Kentucky Family Records, Volume XI, page 42 shows that William Sweatt was married to Sarah Kimbrough and had a son, William, Jr. Not sure if Edward was born to Sarah and William. William married Sarah Pierce Davis, a widow of a revolultionary war soldier in Surry County, North Carolina then moved to Wilson County Tennessee as a result of a land grant for revolutionary war service. It is stated that he was a private in the Continental line and received 228 acres in the fork of the Red River and the west fork.

William Sweatt and Sarah Pierce Davis had five more sons of which Joseph is my direct ancestor. If you have any information on William or his ancestors, please let me know.
