Ah, I see. There has only been one Sweeney family in Union City so we have to be talking about the same group of people. My great grandfather moved there with his 6 kids around 1902. There are still Sweeney's living there today (my cousins). Both of my parents grew up in Union City. My great grandfather had a son named Dennis, so maybe he had a brother by that name as well.

That is the piece of the puzzle I am trying to find. I don't know anything beyond my great grandfather’s name, his wife, and his kids. The info on the 1880 census says he was born in New York to Irish immigrant parents.
