I am the son of Paul M. Swim,New Brunswick Canada, who gave Grenfel some info.
I've just become interested in my family tree and after veiwing John Swim's tree have noticed a few mistakes.
Wendell Shepard Swim was my fathers brother, the son of James W. Swim and Harriet B.My father passed away in 1995, my mother in !998, and Wendell in 2000.
Also to extend the tree further I have a son Kealan Patrick Swim born in 1991.
I married P. Connie Powers in 1989.
Could John Swim's wife
Phoebe--- possibly be a Doak, as my father had told us that the first SWim to the Doaktown area had been a servant to an army officer from Fredericton N.B. Apparently my ancestor became ill while travelling and was left by the officer inDoaktown and taken in by Squire Doak and eventually married the Squires daughter. Ihave looked through the N.B. web site at www.snb.ca . The archives are under supply and services dept. In the 1851 census thern are several Doaks--James Doak, age 69, Robert Doak, 40, Henry Doak, 57, Robert Doak ESQ, 65, all of whom are listed as Scottish farmers. I would like to go back as far as possible in my tree. Any info you might have that may be of use to me would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou
P.D. Swim
