Allenhurst - Steven Mike Swindell, age 53, entered into eternal rest on June 7, 2004 while under the care of Hospice Savannah. He was born August 5, 1950 in Savannah and was a lifelong resident of Allehurst and Liberty County. He lived the last 12 years in Long County. He was employed at Interstate Paper Company in Riceboro for 27 years, a member of the Allenhurst Presbyterian Church. Mike was an avid outdoors man and officer in the Tibet Refuge Hunting Club. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Mary Swindell. Surviving are a daughter, Stephany Vae Swindell of Hinesville; one brother and sister-in-law, Marion and Terry Swindell of Morrilton, AR; one sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Frank Edge of Riceboro and special cousins, Mike and Teri McGowan of Ludowici. Visitation will be 1-2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Fred Boozer and Rev. Bill Barnett officiating.
