Isaac Swindell of Derbyshire or Lancs

I am trying to find the marriage of Isaac Swindell to Elizabeth Lees. Their son, William, was born about 1855 in Church, Lancashire (so he said) but I can't find any record of his birth either! William migrated first to Auckland, NZ arriving on 5 Feb 1880 on the "British Empire" with a David Swindell (perhaps a brother?)
William somehow continued to Sydney in Australia as he married Jane Cormack Melven/Melville there in 1884, spelling his surname Swindail.
Would like to learn anything about William and his parents.
