Hi James,
On your MERCER lines, are any of them from Georgetown County, SC, and before that, from the Robeson County or Brunswick County, NC area? My father's sister married a Thomas Redden STUART who was from Georgetown and his mother
was Mary Alice MERCER from Sampit, SC which is southeast Georgetown County. She is not related to songwriter Johnny MERCER who is buried at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, but interestingly, my father grew up with Johnny and his brother Daniel. Dan attended Calvary Baptist Church and I remember meeting him there as a child in the 1950s. He operated a lighting fixture store on Waters Avenue as I recall.
