good evening,i just read your query pertaining to your family the swints.my grandparents h.j.robinson -roberson]said he was born 9-26-1900 in texas or arkansas and my grandmother mary richardson was born in atnata, texas 4-23-1900.when i would discuss the history of people in cass county my grandfather would tell me about researching the swints who were slaveowners.just check out the census before 1870 wherein there were two census in america one for those who were free and the slave census and you will find the swints as slaveowners.i would like to know who were their slaves and what county did they come from in georgia?as both black and whites on the census of cass [davis]county are listed as coming from georgia to cass county so it is imperative for me to try to find out this migration of slaves and slaveowners from georgia to cass county, texas?any assistance is greatly appreciated?as well as what were the names of the plantations in cass county? does anyone have any freedmen's bureau records of african americans from cass and polk county, texas?thank you-muhammad abdullah-p.o.box 338-compton,ca.90223
