Hello, William Enis Swint was my grandfather. The land my mother owns has been in our family for 125 years. It is in Cass County Texas. I have some information on these Swints. The land we own came to my family around the civil war. William Swint b1816 Hancock Co. Georgia, His son James Polk Swint b1850 in Meriwhether Co., Georgia (as is most of William's Children) However, William must have moved west between 1852-56 because his last 2 children were born in Tallapoosa Co., Alabama. Then James Polk Swint's Children were all born in Cass Co. Texas. Starting in 1876. One of these children was my Grandfather William Enis Swint. The total land was divided up as it was handed down and willed. I'm not certain if there were slaves invovled with the Swints and have heard nothing authoritative of that from my Mother.
