Oops. The spelling issue: likely Fraser when the family came over, allegedly in 1747 after Battle of Culloden in Scotland. Family spelling of Frazer persisted in the branches to this day with the exception of two lines. One line in Chambers Co. AL, had death of the father (Daniel Toliver "Faith" Frazer) when he was in early 40's. Wife with young children remarried and when the boys went to work in the mills, the mill office spelled the name Frazier and all this branch has stayed with the altered spelling. The other branch in Chambers Co., returned to the Fraser spelling for unknown reason. So there are 3 spellings for this family in Chambers Co.
