I was just reading your interesting post. There are a couple of errors in your post regarding Jane POOL and the John SWINT she married. He was not from Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and Mt. Pleasant is in Titus County, TX, not Cass County. None of the SWINTs were in Titus County before the 1870s.
Jane POOL married John F. SWINT on 3 Dec 1840 in Washington Co, GA. Frederic TRAWICK performed the ceremony. This John SWINT was born and died in Washington Co, GA. He was never in Texas. This one is distantly related to the ones in Texas (he's my 4th great uncle) and they all come from the John SWINT who died in 1801 in Hancock Co, GA, who is my 4th great grandfather. John F. SWINT (who m. Jane POOL) was a son of Edmund SWINT & Mary RUSHING. Edmund was a brother of my 3rd great grandfather, Rev. Frederic SWINT.
