Hi, Matt --

Thanks for your reply to my earlier post. I've heard of a SWINT family originally named GERSCHWIND that came from Russia (or maybe through Russia from somewhere else?) who were in PA and Ohio. Maybe those are your SWINTs. As far as I know they have no connection to the ones in GA. According to the info I have, my SWINTs were originally SCHWINDT and came from Germany before the Revolutionary War. My 4th great grandparents were John SWINT & Elizabeth CARTLEDGE who had seven sons. Their son (Rev) Frederic SWINT m. Rebecca HARRIS and their son Samuel SWINT m. Rebecca CARTLEDGE (related to Elizabeth, above). Their son Frederic SWINT m. Mary Frances "Molly" EMERSON. Their son Jefferson Frederic SWINT was my grandfather. So my line is: John>Frederic>Samuel>Frederic>Jefferson Frederic. The "original" John's father MAY have been another John SWINT -- there is one reference that MAY indicate that.

Good luck in your search. Happy New Year!
--Becky
